Catalogue Essay
The celebrated American jewellery Raymond C. Yard was known for his understated designs with special attention to details, focusing on the quality of materials and workmanship rather than stylistic innovation. Such that the stones selected are always of the highest quality; the rubies are predominantly from Burma, and the majority of sapphires from Kashmir. This pair of earrings created during the Art Deco period, also regarded as the classic period of Yard, is set with a two matching sapphires from the legendary mine of Kashmir.
