Catalogue Essay
Comprised of three parts, Entering into Nothing Else, 2010, is constructed from a metal stand, a wooden base, and the neon cube. Highlighting Yudi Noor's artistic influences, the teak wood - the body of a colonial style table - and a neon cube, echoing the work of Sol LeWitt. The diversity of objects and materials here form a temple composition and are used in what Yudi Noor describes as 'the architecture of materials'. The work takes it's title 'Entering into Nothing Else' from two songs from Metallica 'Enter Sandman' and 'Nothing Else Matters'. Following on from Yudi Noor's interest in the trinity of truth, he describes, 'your truth, my truth, and the truth itself, if in harmony lead to nothing else, an emptiness of self and an acceptance of the other.'
