- Cased in a 39mm solid-three body case, the timepiece features a two-tone grey and black tapisserie dial with luminous Arabic numeral hour markers and "AP" at the 12 o'clock position. Three recessed black subsidiary dials with black Arabic numerals are also present, one of them bearing the distinctive red swirled Alinghi logo.
- The model was launched as a limited edition of 1,250 pieces in stainless steel with 200 pieces in pink gold.
- Behind the very graphic caseback commemorating the Royal Oak anniversary, the timepiece is powered by the caliber 2385, an automatic integrated column-wheel operated chronograph mechanism which boasts 40 hours power reserve.
- Regarded by collectors as one of the coolest iterations of the City of Sails Royal Oak line up, the present example in stainless steel comes complete with its full set of accessories.
- The present timepiece has been extremely well-handled over the years and has been preserved in almost “new-old-stock” condition.
Audemars Piguet
Swiss | 1881A specialist in the manufacture of complications since it was established in 1881, Audemars Piguet never ceases to impress with a rich history of creating bold, even audacious, timepieces underpinned by traditional watchmaking at its finest. This Le Brassus-based Swiss manufacturer is one of only two major manufacturers still owned by the founding family. Since its earliest days, AP is considered a leader in the field of minute repeaters and grande complication pocket and wristwatches. The brand is devoted to preserving the history of watchmaking in the Vallée de Joux, showcased at their superb museum in Le Brassus.
Today, the brand is best known for its Royal Oak models, a revolutionary luxury sports watch launched in 1972. Other key models include early minute repeating wristwatches, vintage chronograph wristwatches, such as the oversized reference 5020, perpetual calendar watches and the Royal Oak Offshore, first introduced in 1993.
