Among the entire production run, one iteration of the Jumbo stands out for its rarity and desirability: the ref. 15206, made exclusively for the legendary Japanese retailer Yoshida. Crafted in either platinum or 18K pink gold, it features a dial that distinguishes itself from all other Jumbo variants. Eschewing the classic blue color and the “petite tapisserie” guilloché pattern, these Japan-only editions showcase a more luxurious tuxedo-like aesthetic. The dial of the present 15206PT is made from smooth black onyx, adorned with 11 brilliant-cut diamonds as hour markers. The glossy surface serves as a backdrop that highlights the diamonds, while the platinum case epitomizes stealth luxury.
Limited to only 70 pieces in the platinum variant, as noted on the caseback, this example is offered in excellent, hardly worn condition and is accompanied by its complete set of accessories. Marking the auction debut for this reference in Phillips, it represents the ultimate luxurious expression of the modern “Jumbo”.
