Good To Know:

- Art Deco “sector” dial modelled on a style found on the Les Must de Cartier Tank of the 1980s
- Customed The Armoury 18K pink gold 7-link bracelet

This special edition Louis Cartier with its art deco style repeating squares pattern is part of Cartier's fondness for this aesthetic.

The custom bracelet, inspired by the classic brick bracelets of the 1930s, are made by bracelet craftsmen in Hong Kong. They are a joint project between international menswear brand, The Armoury, and Maia, a Hong Kong company specialized in making precious metal bracelets. Each bracelet is custom made and the endlinks are specifically crafted for a precise fit to the watch head. Additional links are available for purchase on request.

The Tank Louis is a legendary collection that has long resonated with collectors thanks to its timeless design dating to the 1910s. The present example, released in 2021, updates that heritage with an Art Deco “sector” dial inspired by the style seen on Les Must de Cartier Tank models of the 1980s.

Offered by Mark Cho, the watch is preserved in excellent overall condition and is accompanied with its original warranty card and presentation box. Together, the limited production, Art Deco dial and bespoke Armoury bracelet make this Tank Louis a particularly refined and desirable addition to any collection.

Cartier

French

With the Constitution of 1848 came a new standard for luxury in France. Founded one year prior by Louis-Francois Cartier, the house of Cartier was one of the first to use platinum in jewelry making. This incredibly expensive material became the stepping-stone for Cartier to experiment in form, mechanisms and attitude. It helped men move from pocket watches to wristwatches, effectively making the watch much more functional and prominent in a man's overall wardrobe.

Cartier did not only touch on functionality. Inspired by a commissioned painting by George Barbier featuring a black panther at the feet of an elegantly bejeweled woman, Cartier began incorporating wild animals in his designs—most notably, Cartier Panthère rings, bangle bracelets and watches. Yet it wasn't until the late 1960s that the house of Cartier debuted their iconic yellow and rose gold LOVE collection, which includes the famous bracelet that only a special screwdriver can open.
