- Daniel Roth established himself as an early pioneer of independent watchmaking when he founded his eponymous brand in 1989.
- The legacy of the Daniel Roth brand, from the late 1990s through the early 2000s, can largely be divided into three periods: when Roth first established his marque after leaving Breguet in 1989; when The Hour Glass acquired a stake in 1995; and after Bulgari purchased the brand in 2001. Seasoned collectors pine for the rare, early pieces from before The Hour Glass era, which have become increasingly difficult to source and are swiftly acquired when they surface at market.
- Immediately recognizable with its double-ellipse case, this is the Daniel Roth Small Seconds Automatic measures at 31.5mm x 34.5mm. Introduced at Basel Fair in 1996 and produced until circa 2001. The model was available in yellow, pink, white gold with rare steel examples produced, and came in three pinstriped guilloché dial combination: silver, black and pink.
- Numbered 135 from its production, the timepiece is possibly part of the last production batch and comes with its original guarantee and full set of accessories purchased from Japan in 2002.
