- After years of designing and testing, F.P. Journe launched his first collection of writing instruments in 2008. Unique in both design and innovation, the collection is entirely made in either platinum or gold, combined with titanium, the same precious metals found on his timepieces.
- Hand-crafted in a limited edition of only 500 sets, the present set of writing instruments made in platinum and titanium is numbered 63. The set is comprised of a ballpoint pen and a fountain pen, made entirely by hand with the greatest care and the same attention to detail characteristic of F.P. Journe’s creations. The bodies of both pens are beautifully lacquered in blue and entirely guillochéd by hand in the finest craftsmanship.
- Frustrated with the fact that the pen’s cap could be easily misplaced or lost, François-Paul Journe created the original retractable system for the fountain pen, a poetic design whereby screwing the top of the pen, the nib of the fountain pen is revealed through 6 flaps that open and close very similar to the petals of a flower.
- Offered by the original owner, this present set is preserved in excellent condition and comes with box and papers. Transporting the ordinary writing instruments into superb and elegant art objects, how can one not be stirred by F.P. Journe’s unique artistic ingenuity and innovation?
- Please note that the proceeds of the sale of the present watch will be given by the Consignor to various charities.

F.P. Journe
Swiss | 1999Founded by watchmaker François-Paul Journe in 1999, the F.P. Journe brand is relatively young, but already is as highly regarded by collectors as many distinguished manufacturers with centuries-old heritage. In the minds of the world's savviest collectors, Journe is producing some of the finest wristwatches the market has ever seen. Mastering his craft from restoring historical timepieces, he was the first to create a wristwatch incorporating two escapements that benefit from the phenomenon of resonance — the Chronomètre à Résonance.
Key models include the Résonance, tourbillon wristwatches incorporating a remontoir and the limited edition Vagabondage series. Especially sought-after are his earliest "souscription" watches, made in 1999.
