Good To Know:
- A mechanical beast from F.P. Journe featuring a single-button split-seconds chronograph
- Housed in a hefty 44mm platinum case and integrated bracelet
- Eye-catching blue dial with guilloché pattern
- Complete with guarantee card and presentation box
Following the debut of the Chronographe Monopoussoir Rattrapante Bleu as the Only Watch unique piece in 2017, F.P. Journe produced the model in four production variants: platinum, pink gold and two executions in grade‑5 titanium. The movements used in the precious‑metal versions follow F.P. Journe’s signature pink gold construction.
The watch is powered by the technically impressive, manual‑winding calibre 1518 — a development of calibre 1517 from the Only Watch prototype. The chronograph is a monopusher design: stop, start and reset are all operated by the single pusher at 2 o’clock, while the rattrapante (split‑seconds) function is engaged independently by a second pusher at 4 o’clock. This layout preserves purity of operation while offering the complex utility of split timing.
At 44 mm across and fitted here with a substantial integrated platinum bracelet, the piece makes a powerful visual statement on the wrist, the robust sizing and bracelet integration amplify both its presence and wearing comfort. Offered in excellent overall condition and accompanied by its original guarantee card and presentation box, the present example is a rare, well‑preserved expression of F.P. Journe’s combination of haute‑horlogerie finishing and inventive chronograph engineering — a model that will strongly appeal to knowledgeable collectors.

F.P. Journe
Swiss | 1999Founded by watchmaker François-Paul Journe in 1999, the F.P. Journe brand is relatively young, but already is as highly regarded by collectors as many distinguished manufacturers with centuries-old heritage. In the minds of the world's savviest collectors, Journe is producing some of the finest wristwatches the market has ever seen. Mastering his craft from restoring historical timepieces, he was the first to create a wristwatch incorporating two escapements that benefit from the phenomenon of resonance — the Chronomètre à Résonance.
Key models include the Résonance, tourbillon wristwatches incorporating a remontoir and the limited edition Vagabondage series. Especially sought-after are his earliest "souscription" watches, made in 1999.
