Greubel Forsey stunned the horological world when the brand launched their first collection in 2004. Its unique positioning of the double tourbillon at 30 degrees slanted remains a Greubel Forsey’s signature to this day. Over the next twenty years, Greubel Forsey quickly became a tour-de-force in the high-end complications world. Since then they have continued to amaze the watchmaking world with one collection after another, all consisting of exemplary watches, ranging from a GMT with a miniature, three-dimensional rotating terrestrial globe, to a Grand Sonnerie with inclined tourbillon.

The present example is a limited edition of 33 pieces launched in 2017. This is Greubel Forsey’s “simplistic” approach to a time-only wristwatch, while still executing the highest standards of technical excellence. It features the brand’s signature variable-inertia balance wheel with 6 gold mean-time screws, at a size of a jaw-dropping 12.6 mm. The nickel silver bridges, frosted and spotted with polished beveling, together with nickel-palladium treatment, make the dial a treat to behold. On the reverse, the movement is etched with letters that speak to Greubel Forsey’s watchmaking ethos. One can attest to the fact that absolutely every element of the watch, has been given the utmost consideration and executed with passion and precision.

Only 33 pieces were made in white gold, and the present Balancier is a complete set with all of its original accessories, and presented in close to new condition for the astute collectors of the independent watchmaking world.
