- From the very first generation of IWC split-seconds chronographs, Richard Habring created a simple, clever, and cost effective rattrapante based on the same design principles as the rugged and reliable Valjoux 7750 base. This system was also used in the famous IWC Il Destriero Scafusia, alongside the IWC minute repeater module and Kurt Klauss’s perpetual calendar.
- The attractive glossy white “panda” dial recalls the enamel dials of historic IWC pocket watches and is signed with the vintage International Watch Company name; produced exclusively for the Japanese market in approximately 130 examples in steel and just 5 in platinum. The present watch, in stainless steel, is number 62.
- Practical red and blue chronograph seconds hands make timing intuitive at a glance, while the superb IWC bracelet, with solid links, push-button clasp and modern-style quick link release, remains one of the best of its era and a pleasure on the wrist. Accompanied by it's original box, this sporty, yet elegant timepiece is an excellent entry into the world of IWC.
