完整圖錄內容
The present Reverso Chronographe Retrograde is an exquisite example of this limited series. At first glance, this is a classic Reverso with a two-handed time display and a date window at 6 o’clock. However, once the case is reversed, the caseback exposes its a semi-skeletonised dial, fully dedicated to the chronograph. While the main dial shows the seconds, the semi-circle scale at 6’oclock is a retrograde style 30 seconds counter. The naked caseback allows the beholder to admire the entirety of the chronographic clockwork, especially how the pushers engage the column wheel. An ingenious device is present on the main dial: an indication of whether the chronograph is running or not. This feature enables the user to start and stop the chronograph "on the go", without reverting to the chronograph dial.
Presented in excellent overall condition, the present Reverso Chronographe Retrograde in pink gold is a true collector’s piece for Jaeger-LeCoultre enthusiasts, complete with its original accessories.
Jaeger-LeCoultre
Swiss | 1833Not all companies in the watchmaking field have been able to stand the test of time quite like Jaeger LeCoultre, also known as the "watchmaker's watchmaker." Founded in 1833 by Antoine LeCoultre and originally named LeCoutre, the firm provided watchmaking's top brands, such as Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin and Audemars Piguet, the high-grade, unfinished mechanical movements with which they completed their watches.
In the early 1900s, Cartier's watch supplier Edmond Jaeger sought out LeCoultre's help in creating the world's thinnest watches. The collaboration resulted in the creation of Cartier's earliest Tank and Santos watches, all housed with LeCoultre movements. The duo decided to merge in 1937, and the firm officially became the Jaeger-LeCoultre brand by which collectors know and adore it today. Some of the firm's most significant and important timepieces include the Reverso, the Memovox, the Atmos clock and, among modern watches, their Master Complications.
