- The Model No. 5 Kai, introduced at the beginning of 2025, delivers Jiro Katayama’s aesthetics of combining industrial instruments into Japanese watchmaking, it is a total revamp of the original Model No. 5. The regulator-style mechanism is now replaced by a satellite hour module with three rotating discs, adding another exotic display to Otsuka Lotec’s line up.
- Otsuka Lotec is the embodiment of ‘Made in Japan’ craftsmanship as most components of the watches are crafted in Katayama’s atelier, while the movements, in this case the Model No. 5, are sourced from the Japanese manufacturer Miyota which is known for outstanding reliability. For this particular model, ball bearings of MinebeaMitsumi, a renowned Japanese manufacturer in mechanical parts, are used in the satellite hour module.
