- Parmigiani Fleurier's Ovale Pantographe collection originally started back in 2011 with the Parmigiani 114. Immediately acclaimed in 2014 the brand released a limited edition version of the Ovale Pantographe showcasing a lovely textured dial. Shortly after, Parmigiani released the present Ovale both in 18k pink gold and white gold.
- The collection derives its name from the unusual oval-shaped case and from the french word "pantographe" which describes the 17th century invention of telescopic arm that allowed the writer to to produce duplicate writing or drawings (an early invention of the now more common copy-paste). Clearly not copying anything, the hour and minute hands on the other hand "follow" the oval form of the case, extending and contracting as they move around the elliptical dial.
- Rotating the watch, the wearer is granted the view of Parmigiani's cal. PF111. Beautifully finished, the caliber impressively boasts a full week of power reserve, a feature further emphasised on the dial with the term Hebdomadaire.
- Technically impressive and sublimely elegant, the present 18k pink gold Ovale Pantographe is certainly marketed towards collectors who are not looking to express materialistic style, but the confidence of knowledge and culture, with a refined elegance that is not at all conventional.
