In 1996, Patek Philippe launched a limited edition self-winding perpetual calendar ref. 5038. Produced in only 500 examples and only in white gold, the model takes the elegant DNA of the ref. 3940 with its sinuous round case. Contrasting against the richness of the black lacquer, the painted white Roman numerals graced the perpetual calendar with charisma and incredible legibility. Adding to its attraction, the beaded hobnail bezel grants another dimension to the highly appealing case. Offered in an attractive overall condition, the present example of the ref. 5038 is further charmed with its original Certificate of Origin and fitted winding presentation box.
