The reference 3796 was produced between 1982 and 1999, serving as a direct descendant of the discontinued reference 96. It is arguably the last true "legacy model" crafted by the firm. Both references measure 31mm in diameter and appear nearly identical when worn, featuring a classic three-part case with a flat polished bezel atop a brushed middle case, extended by simple flat downward-curving lugs.
The reference 3796 comes in various case metals, with the present white gold specimen being the rarest of the four materials produced. Showcasing a captivating dial configuration characterized by diamond-set hour markers against a white ivory dial, the design is complemented by simple black markers at the small seconds and a feuille hand. Notably, the lower-case Greek letter sigma beside the "Swiss" signature at the bottom of the dial indicates that the hands and hour markers are crafted from solid gold.
Powered by the manual calibre 215 PS, this watch is stamped with the Geneva Seal, which attests to the exceptional quality of the decoration and finishing of the movement, adhering to the highest standards of Genevan watchmaking. Offered in excellent overall condition, this timepiece comes complete with the original Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin from 1992. It is a rare gem and an enchanting find that discerning collectors should not miss.
