Debuting in 1996, the Patek Philippe ref. 5004 stands apart for its synthesis of a perpetual calendar and split-seconds chronograph complication, a pairing of immense intricacy and prestige. As the final reference to be powered by the esteemed Lemania-based cal. CH 27-70 Q, the ref. 5004 was widely revered amongst collectors even after its discontinuation in 2009. An extraordinarily exclusive final edition followed in 2010, encased in stainless steel as a farewell to this horological icon.

Succeeded by the ref. 5204 in 2012 featuring Patek Philippe's own in-house movement, the ref. 5004 represented one of the most coveted contemporary models in the storied maison's collections. Acquiring it directly from an authorized boutique proved exceptionally difficult, given the split-second module with its column wheel and precise jumping minutes hand. This added an extra layer of complexity to the already demanding perpetual calendar chronograph caliber, necessitating meticulous hand-finishing and resulting in painstakingly slow output constrained by Patek Philippe's uncompromising standards.

While the reference was cased in platinum, yellow gold, rose gold, and stainless steel, white gold examples like the present ref. 5004G-013 are exceedingly scarce. “Fresh to the market” and accompanied by its full set of accessories, its subtle radiance of white gold paired with the absolute horological excellence of Patek Philippe's final Lemania-based perpetual calendar split-seconds chronograph make this ref. 5004G an extraordinary acquisition for the discerning collector.

Patek Philippe

Swiss | 1839
Since its founding in 1839, this famous Geneva-based firm has been surprising its clientele with superbly crafted timepieces fitted with watchmaking's most prestigious complications. Traditional and conservative designs are found across Patek Philippe's watches made throughout their history — the utmost in understated elegance.Well-known for the Graves Supercomplication — a highly complicated pocket watch that was the world’s most complicated watch for 50 years — this family-owned brand has earned a reputation of excellence around the world. Patek's complicated vintage watches hold the highest number of world records for results achieved at auction compared with any other brand. For collectors, key models include the reference 1518, the world's first serially produced perpetual calendar chronograph, and its successor, the reference 2499. Other famous models include perpetual calendars such as the ref. 1526, ref. 3448 and 3450, chronographs such as the reference 130, 530 and 1463, as well as reference 1436 and 1563 split seconds chronographs. Patek is also well-known for their classically styled, time-only "Calatrava" dress watches, and the "Nautilus," an iconic luxury sports watch first introduced in 1976 as the reference 3700 that is still in production today.
