Paul Gerber is a highly respected independent watchmaker from Bern, Switzerland, who has operated his own workshop in Zurich since 1976. A member of the Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants (AHCI), Gerber is recognised as one of the world’s leading master watchmakers. His technical prowess is amply demonstrated in collaborations such as the “Superbia Humanitatis”, created with Franck Muller and featured in the 2005 Guinness World Records as one of the most complicated wristwatches ever made.
The present Paul Gerber Twin Rotor is a study in restrained functionality executed with extraordinary invention. While minimalistic in everyday time‑telling, the model incorporates significant mechanical innovation: a modified Peseux calibre 700 base movement fitted with the world’s first flyback retrograde seconds mechanism. Powering the movement is a novel double‑oscillating system driven by twin platinum rotors, visible through the sapphire caseback and offering both technical interest and aesthetic drama.
