Though Ulysse Nardin is now better known for its avant-garde models, enamel dials were a central element in Ulysse Nardin’s collection between 1980s and the early 2000s. All crafted by Donzé Cadrans, cloisonné enamel was reserved for the brand’s most prestigious models, such as the Chronometer San Marco.

The present San Marco Chronometer features a striking cloisonné enamel dial that vividly portrays the iconic skyline and Victoria Harbour of Hong Kong, capturing the city's vibrant character and energetic pace. At the center of the dial is a traditional Chinese junk sailing across Victoria Harbour, a tribute both to the brand’s maritime heritage and to Hong Kong’s transformation from a fishing village into a global metropolis. The Bank of China Tower, one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks, is also prominently featured, anchoring the composition and celebrating Hong Kong’s modern identity. To commemorate the historic event, the caseback is engraved in Traditional Chinese with the city’s name “香港” and the handover date "1997年7月1日" .

The present example is a possibly unique piece signed Musée. Offered in well-preserved overall condition, the present timepiece accompanied by its original accessories.
