完整圖錄內容
In the 1950s, the French sculptor Valentine Schlegel created a series of coil-built, organically-shaped ceramics. Working between her native Sète and Paris, where she had moved in 1945, Schlegel’s contoured forms and muted palette reflect the enduring inspiration she found in the Mediterranean landscape. The present vases, whose soft botanic shapes initially appear abstract in form, were intended as functional objects, characteristically weaving the sculptor’s art practice and day-to-day experience.
