Kat Lowish
Biography
Kat Lowish (b. 1989) based in New York, recently (2023) earned her MFA from Columbia University’s School of the Arts. Kat has been in exhibitions in the US and Europe including at Half Gallery (NY), Thierry Goldberg (NY) and David DeBoer (LA).
“It is freeing not to know how a moment continues. The joy of painting for me is that I can invent a moment of a story - with all its detail- without committing to a definitive end thereby enabling the viewer to find their own. The scenes I paint hopefully spark intrigue and open questions that momentarily begin on the canvas but are intended to continue or conclude in the imagination of the observer.”
