Catalogue Essay
Due to the extreme conditions under which emeralds are formed, it is very common for them to have a considerable amount of inclusions. The matrix of inclusions is even named 'jardin' for its elusive beauty. This very emerald, described as ‘virtually free of fissures and fracture’ by Gübelin, is an utterly rare specimen.
