This rare work on paper of Le Corbusier was created in the city of Simla, north of Chandigarh, India on November 10th 1951. The drawings subject matter, however, dates back to the end of the twenties when an integral part of the Parisian intellectual's lifestyle was to spend holidays in the south of France, preferably the resort town of "Le Piquey", near Arcachon.

The offered lot was given to Manmohan Siali who worked with Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret in Chandigarh, during the design and construction of the new capital of Punjab.

Eric Mouchet has kindly confirmed the authenticity of this work.
