Renée ‘Zizi’ Jeanmaire and Roland Petit are names that resonate in the Ballet world. In 1933, aged 9, they both entered the Dance school of the Opera de Paris, and joined the ballet seven years later. They worked together for a decade, before parting ways, and Hollywood and Broadway reunited them. Zizi won the hearts of Americans and in 1954, she married Roland Petit, joining for their lifetime the names of a famous choreographer and dancer, son of Rose Repetto, founder of the iconic dance brand, and a dancer and muse.
