  • Provenance

    OK Harris Gallery, New York
    Private Collection, New York

  • Literature

Having visited Warhol’s first solo pop art exhibition, Andy Warhol: Campbell's Soup Cans, at the Ferus Gallery in 1962, Richard Pettibone began appropriating and reproducing his own interpretations of the artist’s iconic silkscreens. Influenced by the work of other artists, Pettibone is celebrated for blurring the boundary between the original and the replica, masterfully re-contextualizing some of the most renowned masterpieces from the major protagonists of twentieth century art.
