    - With the present Lange 1 Zeitzone, you will literally carry the world on your wrist. Distinguishing itself from the commonly found second central hand used to indicate a different time zone, A. Lange & Söhne presents the local time through a large subsidiary dial at 9 o'clock. Additionally, an innovative smaller subsidiary dial has been added at 4 o'clock to display the second time zone.

-On the outer rim of the dial, a city ring has been integrated, and the small arrow on the subsidiary dial denotes the city where the second time zone is located. By pressing the pusher at 8 o'clock, the times of all 24 time zones can be called up one after the other.

-The timepiece also features two equally practical day/night indicators for both local and home time.

-Cased in platinum, this cosmopolitan model displays an attractive rhodium-colored dial made of solid silver with a decidedly classic look.

-As you flip the watch over, the transparent case back reveals the captivating Lange movement L031.1, with the three-quarter plate beautifully chamfered and delicately decorated with Glashütte stripes, gold chatons, blued screws, red rubies, and exquisite engravings. This is further enhanced by the uniquely hand-engraved balance-cork with the classic Lange floral patterns.

-Acquired in December 2006 and complete with its original guarantee and presentation box, this is the perfect dress watch for the modern-day globetrotter.

  • Artist Biography

    A. Lange & Söhne

    German • 1845

Originally founded in 1845 by Ferdinand Adolph Lange in Glashütte, Dresden, Germany, the firm established an entire watchmaking culture and industry in Glashütte. The brand quickly became Germany's finest watchmaker, first creating dependable, easy-to-repair watches before going on to produce some of the world's finest complicated pocket watches, including Grande Sonnerie watches, tourbillon watches and Grande Complications.

On the final day of World War II, their factories were destroyed by Russian bombers, and in 1948 the brand was confiscated by the Soviet Union. Following the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, Ferdinand's great grandson Walter Lange re-established the brand with the objective to once again produce top-quality luxury watches. Now part of the Richemont Group, its original vintage and modern creations are highly coveted by collectors. Key models from the modern era include the Lange 1, Pour Le Mérite Tourbillon and the Zeitwerk.
