- The Saxonia, one of the seminal watches debuting in A. Lange & Söhne's first collection in 1994, has since secured its place as an icon of the brand. Its puristic yet refined design pays homage to the renaissance of Saxon fine watchmaking.
- With the manufacture cal. L941.1 introduced in 2015, the Saxonia continues the tradition of superlative mechanical watchmaking resurrected by Lange over two decades ago. The lavishly finished surfaces, German silver three-quarter plate, hand-engraved balance cock, screwed gold chatons and classic screw balance exemplify Lange's relentless pursuit of perfection.
- This ref. 219.047 in white gold features a shimmering silver dial faced with lustrous white mother-of-pearl, echoing the noble heritage and elegance ingrained in the Saxonia line. An enduring emblem of Saxon watchmaking mastery reimagined for today.
- From the distinguished collection of Mark Cho, known for his appreciation of traditionally sized timepieces, this Saxonia is preserved in barely worn condition with its full set of accessories.
Originally founded in 1845 by Ferdinand Adolph Lange in Glashütte, Dresden, Germany, the firm established an entire watchmaking culture and industry in Glashütte. The brand quickly became Germany's finest watchmaker, first creating dependable, easy-to-repair watches before going on to produce some of the world's finest complicated pocket watches, including Grande Sonnerie watches, tourbillon watches and Grande Complications.
On the final day of World War II, their factories were destroyed by Russian bombers, and in 1948 the brand was confiscated by the Soviet Union. Following the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, Ferdinand's great grandson Walter Lange re-established the brand with the objective to once again produce top-quality luxury watches. Now part of the Richemont Group, its original vintage and modern creations are highly coveted by collectors. Key models from the modern era include the Lange 1, Pour Le Mérite Tourbillon and the Zeitwerk.
