  • Catalogue Essay

The Langematik Perpetual collection was first introduced in 2001, available in platinum and yellow gold. This watch was groundbreaking at the time as it combined a perpetual calendar with Lange's signature outsized date. Over the years, various editions have been released, and to celebrate the collection's 20th anniversary in 2021, the reference 310.028 was unveiled in white and pink gold, featuring a striking blue dial. This boutique-only release was limited to just 50 pieces in this configuration, with an additional 50 crafted in pink gold.

The dial of the Langematik Perpetual masterfully balances various information, prominently displaying A. Lange & Söhne's signature large date aperture at the center. The design ensures that the date and time draw the viewer's attention simultaneously. Sub-dials provide additional functionality, including a day and day/night indicator at 9 o'clock, a month and leap year indicator at 3 o'clock, and an elegant moon phases display at 6 o'clock. The movement calibre L922.1 is shown delicately via the sapphire crystal display back and equipped with a clever zero-reset mechanism, allowing for more precise time setting.

True to A. Lange & Söhne’s exceptional standards, this watch is encased in sleek white gold, a configuration that is particularly popular for both casual and formal occasions. Numbered 13, the watch is kept in excellent condition and comes complete with its guarantee and winding box.

  • Artist Biography

    A. Lange & Söhne

    German • 1845

Originally founded in 1845 by Ferdinand Adolph Lange in Glashütte, Dresden, Germany, the firm established an entire watchmaking culture and industry in Glashütte. The brand quickly became Germany's finest watchmaker, first creating dependable, easy-to-repair watches before going on to produce some of the world's finest complicated pocket watches, including Grande Sonnerie watches, tourbillon watches and Grande Complications.

On the final day of World War II, their factories were destroyed by Russian bombers, and in 1948 the brand was confiscated by the Soviet Union. Following the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, Ferdinand's great grandson Walter Lange re-established the brand with the objective to once again produce top-quality luxury watches. Now part of the Richemont Group, its original vintage and modern creations are highly coveted by collectors. Key models from the modern era include the Lange 1, Pour Le Mérite Tourbillon and the Zeitwerk.
