  • Catalogue Essay

    - In the summer of 2017, Audemars Piguet surprised collectors with an exotic series Royal Oak Offshore Divers, boasting ultra-funky colourways to kick-off a season of sea, sun and self-indulgence. The present ref. 15710ST.OO.A027CA.01 is one of the five models introduced in the Funky Colour collection.

    - Bearing an ever-iconic Mega-Tapisserie dial with white gold applied indexes, the main spectacle of this variant is its cobalt blue canvas with sharp yellow accents. Without interrupting the flow of the octagonal bezel, an internal rotating chapter ring surrounding the dial is used to calculate the elapsed times. This feature can be easily actuated via the second crown at 10 o’clock and is designed to be used during underwater excursions. Adhering strongly to the brand’s DNA, this diver’s watch is framed in a robust stainless steel monobloc case with integrated lugs and a satin finish, measuring 42mm in diameter. The overall construction of the Royal Oak Offshore Diver is extremely solid, giving it a substantial wrist presence that is adapted to recreational diving sessions.

    - Reminiscent of an unobstructed view of a sunrise seascape, the contrasting blue and yellow colours perfectly complement each other without being too audacious. With that said, the present timepiece is the first of its kind to be offered at PHILLIPS. Delivered in excellent overall condition with its original accessories, this funky beast is ready to be shown off on both underwater and landlocked adventures.

    Audemars Piguet

    Swiss • 1881

A specialist in the manufacture of complications since it was established in 1881, Audemars Piguet never ceases to impress with a rich history of creating bold, even audacious, timepieces underpinned by traditional watchmaking at its finest. This Le Brassus-based Swiss manufacturer is one of only two major manufacturers still owned by the founding family. Today, the brand is best known for its Royal Oak models, a revolutionary luxury sports watch launched in 1972.
