    - Breguet's storied history intertwines with innovations that transformed watchmaking. The Classique watch is directly inspired by the revolutionary vision of A.-L. Breguet. Purity sings in each proportion, harmony guides every contour. The ordered beauty of the maison's codes - fluted caseband, guilloché by human hands - reflects the movement's rhythm within.

    - Presented in an elegant pink gold case, the Classique ref. 5247’s refined round silhouette recalls Breguet's design codes. Within, the manually-wound chronograph movement cal. 533-3 is endowed with new vitality - its frequency increased to a vibrant three hertz. Power holds for 48 hours before winding is required.

    - The pristine white Grand Feu enamel dial necessitated immense mastery to achieve its granular luminosity. Breguet's secret signature is faintly discernible, applied by pantograph stylus. Chronograph functions are arranged with perfect balance for optimal legibility. A “red snail” tachymeter scale with sunken registers enables measuring speed, echoed by the central vermillion chronograph hand. At 3 and 9 o'clock, the 30-minute totaliser and small seconds face each other with blued steel symmetry.

    - Graceful Breguet numerals encircle the periphery in calligraphic black script, accompanied by their signature blued steel moon hands. The present ref. 5247 preserved in excellent condition demonstrates Breguet's enduring ability to ally tradition and vision. Each detail reflects the maison's continuum of excellence that transformed watchmaking's history.

    Breguet

    Swiss • 1775

Established in 1775 by Abraham Louis Breguet, widely considered the greatest watchmaker of all time, the storied brand continues to thrive in the modern era, creating exceptional high-end watches as the Swatch Group's premier prestige brand. Some of the most important and lasting inventions in watchmaking are attributed to Abraham Louis Breguet, including the tourbillon, shock resistance and the use of hammers and gongs employed in nearly all minute repeating watches made since.

Eighteenth and nineteenth century Breguet pocketwatches are especially sought-after by collectors, and many of them were made for the elite of European society, including Napoléon and Marie Antoinette. Key wristwatches from the twentieth century include oversized dress watches, two-register chronographs, triple calendars and Type XX aviator's chronographs made for the French military and civilians.
