F. P. Journe announced the first collection for women in 2014 and it was an immediate success both for its artistic design and ingenious quartz movement.
Beginning with the 18k pink gold movement, the quartz watch is designed with a rotor visible at the 4 o’clock, when the rotor has not moved in 30-40 minutes the watch puts itself in to a power saving mode, and when the rotor begins to move again the watch adjusts to the correct time and functions as usual. This maximizes the life of the battery and the maker says the battery is rated for 8-10 years of daily use and up to 18 years in the standby mode.
The lady’s Élégante is both classic and sporty for daily wearing.
Founded by watchmaker François-Paul Journe in 1999, the F.P. Journe brand is relatively young, but already is as highly regarded by collectors as many distinguished manufacturers with centuries-old heritage.
