    F. P. Journe unveiled his Octa Sport line in 2011, made originally in ultra-light aluminium cases, the collection was inspired by an important collector, aficionado of the brand who is a sportsman that is committed with a passion of marathon and triathlon competitions. With the need of an ultra light sports watch coupled with a movement of haute horlogerie, the sports collection was born.

Broadening the lineage in 2018, F. P Journe released the new Automatique Réserve 2 with three variants: platinum with blue-mauve dial, 18K 6N gold with Ruthenium dial, and Grade 5 titanium with either anthracite or yellow dial like the present example.

Sporting in racing yellow, the Octa Sport Automatique Réserve 2 stands out with a statement. Featuring a 44mm diameter case made in titanium with matching bracelet, it is 2mm larger than its predecessor, with the addition of a ceramic bezel insert. The dial retains similar features such as the power reserve at 10 o’clock, the bean-shaped aperture indicating day and night with a new gradient touch, an upsized date window with larger typography, and last but not least the hour markers are bolder with a modern black outline. Designed with optimal legibility and energetic appeal, the timepiece is fitted with cal.1300.3 made in aluminium with an off centre winding rotor in Titanium with Tungsten segment barrel, and offers a six day power reserve. Weighing no more than 75 grams including the bracelet, the present Octa Sport from 2018 has barely seen any wrist action. Amplified with sportiness with a splash of vibrancy, this is the ultimate watch born ready for action.

    F.P. Journe

    Swiss • 1999

Founded by watchmaker François-Paul Journe in 1999, the F.P. Journe brand is relatively young, but already is as highly regarded by collectors as many distinguished manufacturers with centuries-old heritage. In the minds of the world's savviest collectors, Journe is producing some of the finest wristwatches the market has ever seen. Mastering his craft from restoring historical timepieces, he was the first to create a wristwatch incorporating two escapements that benefit from the phenomenon of resonance — the Chronomètre à Résonance.

Key models include the Résonance, tourbillon wristwatches incorporating a remontoir and the limited edition Vagabondage series. Especially sought-after are his earliest "souscription" watches, made in 1999.
