    Gertrud Arndt (1903–2000) studied at the Bauhaus 1921–1927, and worked as a teacher between 1929–1932. She married the Bauhaus school architect Alfred Arndt. Otti Berger (1898–1944) arrived to study textiles at the Bauhaus from 1927,where she met Gertrud and studied under Moholy-Nagy, Klee and Kandinsky. After obtaining her Bauhaus Diploma in 1930 Otti remained to supervise the weaving course, until the Bauhaus closure. She died in Auschwitz in 1944. Gertrud Arndt continued to live and work in Damstradt until she died aged 97.
