In 2001, German conglomerate of luxury goods GoldPfeil set out on a mission to create a set of wristwatches that would make a statement in the industry to celebrate the new millennium. A group of seven watchmakers from the acclaimed “Académie Horlogère des Créteurs Indépendants” AHCI decided to take on the task with each individual presenting a timepiece. Members of master watchmakers involved were Svend Andersen, Vincent Calabrese, Berhard Lederer, Antoine Preziuso, Vianney Halter, Frank Jutzi and Felix Baumgartner. Formed in 1985, AHCI enables members of the association to display their works of art in trade shows.

The first wristwatch of the collection by Svend Andersen encapsulates a rather steampunk style with a 24-Hour dial split in two halves with a date aperture that advances past 6 O’clock. The second wristwatch made by Vincent Calabrese features a rather simplistic dial with jump hours indicated on the aperture at 12 O’clock with a small date window at 6 O’clock and a minute hand rotating on a separate dial. The third wristwatch by Berhard Lederer incorporates a rather traditional approach to watchmaking however featuring a triple calendar wristwatch with date, day and weeks indicated by a separate hand on the outer track and furthermore a 24-Hour subsidiary dial at 6 O’clock. The fourth wristwatch by Antoine Preziuso is again a rather simple time only wristwatch with a leather dial with applied yellow gold indexes and applied yellow gold signature. The fifth wristwatch is regarded by many as perhaps the best out of the collection by Vianney halter. Encased in a rectangular case is a jump hour aperture on the top left corner, a moon position indicator on the top right aperture and finally a main dial displaying a minute hand with center seconds. The sixth wristwatch by Frank Jutzi incorporates again a traditional aesthetic with thick lugs however with a subsidiary dial indicating hours with a separate minute hand on the main dial, a moon phase on the top left subsidiary dial and small seconds positioned at 6 O’clock. Last but not least, the seventh timepiece by Felix Baumgartner encased in a rectangular-shaped yellow gold case featuring small seconds, power reserve indication with the crown positioned at 6 O’clock.

Then present set of 7 watches by master watchmakers of the 21st century is rarely sold and seen as a whole. The set of watches are a statement from the best watchmakers in the world to come together as one to create timepieces reflecting their unique approach towards horology. It is further accompanied by the original large presentation box for 7 watches.
