Known for architectural manipulations, Gregor Schneider's works all reveal an interest in the eeriness and beauty of death. As a young teenager Schneider began to join the theme of death with a heightened awareness of sexuality. The combination of these two themes is important to the present lot. The discovery of a man half covered in a bin bag with no identifying features is gruesome and reveals how "perversion and death are inextricably intertwined, as the viewer is not sure if this is a disturbing murder scene or sexual tableau."
