  • Catalogue Essay

Known for its creation on fusing innovative materials with traditional Swiss watchmaking craftsmanship, Hublot’s Big Bang collection has offered collectors a wide array of models over the years. With Hublot’s involvement in the partnership with Monaco Yacht Club and the Real Club Nautica de Palma, the present timepiece was made to celebrate yet another extraordinary cult for yacht owners for not only nautical adventures, but also a passion for winter sports among the French Alps. The Big Bang limited edition Yacht Club de Courchevel made in only 250 pieces is a splendid illustration of the brand’s DNA. Combining the essence of nature and cutting-edge technology, the Yacht Club de Courchevel is fused with ceramic, steel, Kevlar and rubber. Sporting a contemporary matt black dial, the crest of the club at 9 o’clock with blue and red accents adds a racy touch and a dash of freshness to the timepiece. Offered by the original owner in excellent overall condition, the present timepiece is further accompanied with its full set of accessories.

  • Artist Biography

    Hublot

    Swiss • 1980

Hublot was founded by Carlo Crocco in 1980 and named after the French word for "porthole," which resembles their iconic bezel design. Hublot's first watch followed three years of research and was the first wristwatch to be fitted with a natural rubber strap. The brand's most recognizable watch today is the 'Big Bang', which was first launched in 2005 upon the arrival of CEO and shareholder Jean-Claude Biver. Other noteworthy models are the 'Classic Fusion' and 'King Power'.
