Matouš Háša is a Czech sculptor living and working in Prague. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts, Prague (2018), Háša studied figurative sculpture. Afterwards, he successfully completed his apprenticeship at Middlesex University, London. Currently, he studies at the Akademie der bildenden Künste, Vienna, formerly under Heimo Zobernig and more recently under Daniel Richter. He is currently one of the champions of traditional sculptural forms which he recontextualizes with contemporary signs and symbols. He stresses the contrast between the traditional and the contemporary, with his central theme being human identity. He is often inspired by traditional artistic themes, both Christian and pre-Christian.
