- Co-created by MB&F, L'Epée 1839 and Massena LAB, the T-Rex was met with great enthusiasm from watch collectors when it was originally launched as a one-off creation for Only Watch in 2019, and it later gone into a limited production in 3 iterations. The present example is the reference 76.6008/140 adorned with a mesmerizing blue hand-blown Murano glass dial.
- The design of the clock is closely modelled on the actual skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus Rex, with the structure and proportion of the legs referenced on 3D scans of fossilised Tyrannosaurus-Rex bones. The alternating sandblasted and polished finishes on the surfaces further adds to the realism of the biomechanical sculpture.
- Atop the dinosaur legs, the hours and minutes are indicated by two slim steel hands arching outwards from the centre of the Murano glass dial. The suspended dial alludes to a sunken black hole, and it seems as if the viewer is time-warped back to the age of dinosaurs, taking a fantastical journey to Max Büsser’s imaginative universe.
- The manual-winding calibre 1855 beats at a frequency of 18,000 vph and boasts an 8-day power reserve. The accompanying winding key is used to wind the movement on the barrel axis at the back of the clock, and to set the time directly on the dial.
- The T-Rex table clock is available in three colours with deep blue, green or red Murano glass dial, and each variant was made in a limited edition of 100 examples each. The present example T-Rex Blue is offered in excellent overall condition and is accompanied by its set of accessories.
