A dynamic combination of bold colours, harsh lines and geometric shapes, Workaholic encapsulates our modern-day preoccupation with work. Through the medium of acrylic paint, Nana Tedja meditates on the lack of work-life balance in developed countries. Family and social activities often fall by the wayside as professional responsibilities are prioritised.
Born in Yogyakarta in 1971, Tedja was immersed in visual culture from a young age as her father was a batik entrepreneur. A leading female artist in the contemporary Indonesian art scene, Tedja’s artworks have been displayed in both solo and group exhibitions within Indonesia and abroad. This year alone she has produced three solo exhibitions in both Singapore and Indonesia and has participated in Art Moments Jakarta and Art Fair Philippines.
