  • Catalogue Essay

    - In 2019, Omega celebrated a seminal chapter in the enduring Bond legacy with the Seamaster Diver 300M 007 James Bond On Her Majesty’s Secret Service 50th Anniversary. Marking five decades since the franchise’s sixth film, this limited edition reference immerses 007 devotees in nostalgia while upholding Omega's reputation for refinement.

    - Though Omega's tenure as 007’s official timekeeper began in 1995's GoldenEye, honoring On Her Majesty's Secret Service connects today's Bond with its storied past. Subtle nods to the 1969 film seduce true fans without pandering. The dial mimics Bond's iconic gun barrel sequence while the "7" date evokes the 007 emblem's typeface. At night, the lume reveals a covert "50" within its circle. Most intriguing is the coat of arms at 12 o’clock, representing Bond's family crest.

    - Beyond the tasteful homage, the Seamaster 300M is a paragon of Omega's excellence. A Master Chronometer cal. 8800 beating with a co-axial escapement, 300M water resistance, helium escape valve – hallmarks of a disciplined icon.

    - Accompanied by a sleek black presentation box emblazoned with the Bond gun barrel motif and bullet-head buttons nods discreetly to the 007 mystique. Nestled inside, collectors will discover considerate details befitting Bond's impeccable taste - an additional steel bracelet engraved with "007" on the clasp, a changing tool, and a travel pouch bearing the Bond family crest.

    - Released in a limited edition of 7,007-pieces, the allusions to Bond lore will resonate most with devotees. Yet even for the uninitiated, details like the monochromatic dial and gilt accents in 18K yellow gold coalesce into a handsome, pedigreed dive watch. As Daniel Craig passes the torch in No Time To Die, this well-preserved example numbered 6,626 from circa 2021 symbolizes the indelible Bond legacy within Omega's story.

    Omega

    Swiss • 1848

Omega's rich history begins with its founder, Louis Brandt, who established the firm in 1848 in La Chaux de Fonds. In 1903, the company changed its name to Omega, becoming the only watch brand in history to have been named after one its own movements. A full-fledged manufacturer of highly accurate, affordable and reliable watches, its sterling reputation enabled them to be chosen as the first watch company to time the Olympic Games beginning in 1932. Its continued focus on precision and reliability ultimately led their Speedmaster chronograph wristwatch to be chosen by NASA in 1965 — the first watch worn on the moon.

Key models sought-after by collectors include their first, oversized water-resistant chronograph — the reference 2077, early Speedmaster models such as the CK 2915 and 2998, military-issued versions of the Seamaster and oversized chronometer models such as those fitted with their prestigious caliber 30T2Rg.
