  • Catalogue Essay

    - The Patek Philippe ref. 5960 was first launched in 2006 as the firm’s exciting inaugural attempt to deliver a fully in-house self-winding chronograph.

    - The Swiss manufacturer surprised collectors by merging an annual calendar function into the already complicated timepiece, resulting in a watch that nobody expected, but everyone desperately needed.

    - In 2014, the firm released a stainless steel variant offering the firm’s signature rice bead bracelet fitted with a warm white dial with strong black accents, giving the reference a refreshed contemporary appeal.

    - Framed in a stainless steel case, the black-dialled ref. 5690/1A-010 is among the most coveted models that unveiled in 2017.

    - The reference in stainless steel with a black dial was only produced for a year.

    - With an irresistible design boasting distinct Patek Philippe proportions, the dial is highly legible as it optimizes a “bull’s eye” register that unifies the three traditionally separated calendar counters into one fan-shaped formation.

    - The sapphire caseback invites the wearer to admire the Patek Philippe in-house calibre CH 28-520 IRM QA 24H. Assembled by 456 different components, this is a compact and competent movement, tailored to seamlessly power the Annual Calendar Chronograph watch.

    - The present example Patek Philippe ref. 5960/1A-010 from circa 2018 is offered complete with its full set of accessories and further preserved in excellent overall condition.

Other famous models include perpetual calendars such as the ref. 1526, ref. 3448 and 3450, chronographs such as the reference 130, 530 and 1463, as well as reference 1436 and 1563 split seconds chronographs. Patek is also well-known for their classically styled, time-only "Calatrava" dress watches, and the "Nautilus," an iconic luxury sports watch first introduced in 1976 as the reference 3700 that is still in production today.
