  • Catalogue Essay

    - This exceptional Patek Philippe pocket watch from 1924 marries two of horology's most revered complications into a single masterwork. By combining split-second timing and repeater chime in one, this pocket watch signifies the pinnacle of craft available at the dawn of a new era.

    - The split-seconds mechanism, which allowed for the simultaneous timing of two events like horse and automobile racing, is relatively rare with fewer than 200 known pocket watch examples by Patek Philippe.

    - Crafted to outstanding quality and retailed by Tiffany & Co., Patek Philippe's enduring partner, the watch dials dazzles with applied gold Breguet numerals, confirmed by its Extract from the Archives.

    - Still striking the hours, quarters, and minutes in melodic harmony a century later, this horological treasure embodies enormous value. Its flawless functionality is a testament to the mastery of Patek Philippe's watchmakers even during transitional times.

    - Preserved in excellent overall condition, the present pocket watch is a marvelous addition to any collection.

Patek is also well-known for their classically styled, time-only "Calatrava" dress watches, and the "Nautilus," an iconic luxury sports watch first introduced in 1976 as the reference 3700 that is still in production today.
