    The present lot is an early example of the “PE-19” model, created in the New Hope, Pennsylvania studio of Paul Evans before he re-located to Plumsteadville, Pennsylvania in the early 1970s. Produced for the Directional Furniture Company in New York, the forty-eight-inch-wide PE-19 served as the genesis of the Deep Relief series, with later versions produced in larger formats as both wall-hanging and standing cabinets.
