Richard Mille was founded in 1999, and over the course of 20 years it has managed to impose itself as a force to be reckoned with in the field of horology. Its success is based on daring designs and groundbreaking technology, often incorporating their watches with materials and technical mastery inherited from different fields such as car racing or aviation.
The present pieces for example, incorporates a variable geometry rotor. It features two “wings” which can be adjusted to modify the inertia, ergo the rotor can be eased according to the more or less active lifestyle of the owner. Just for the rotor, the following materials are employed: grade 2 and grade 5 titanium, 18K gold with high palladium content, tungsten/cobalt allow, and ceramic.
Offered in excellent condition and by its original owner, the present watch represents the new direction of 21st century watchmaking.
Established in 1999, Richard Mille's ultra-modern timepieces combine cutting-edge materials from high performance worlds such as Formula 1 racecars with high-end traditional watchmaking. The brand's revolutionary designs, technical breakthroughs and exceptional hand-finishing excite even the most discriminating collectors, and have positioned Richard Mille alongside the top makers of the modern luxury watch world.
Innovative watches, such as the RM 027 Tourbillon, which was the world’s lightest mechanical watch when introduced in 2011, have helped the brand invert the concept of the luxury watch. Key models include the RM 009 Tourbillon cased in Aluminum Silicon Carbide (AlSiC), the RM 027-02 Tourbillon made for tennis star Rafael Nadal with a case made from quartz and carbon fiber and the RM 008 split seconds chronograph.
