      Lot Essay:
This modern Piaget 'Dalí D'Or' bracelet wristwatch is the result of an artistic collaboration between Yves Piaget and famous surrealist painter, Salvador Dalí. A limited-edition manufacture, this textured gold graduating open-link bracelet terminates in a 22k gold medallion. Dalí minted his own gold coins, declared Dali d’Or, which are prominently featured in the jewels and watches that he created during this Piaget partnership in 1967. The coins were created in four values and sizes, and Dali occasionally used them to pay debts he owed to friends. The observe side of this coins depicts Dali’s profile alongside that of his wife and muse, Gala. The coin is further adorned by fleurs-de-lys, laurel leaves, and eggs, a recurring symbol of rebirth throughout Dali's works. This coin is signed by Dali and dated 1966.
