Henry Highley, Head of Day Sale, said, “Following last night’s Evening Sale, today’s results reaffirmed the stability of the global art market at every price level. We were pleased that Yesookyung’s Translated Vase set a world record. And we were especially excited with the result of Yue Minjun’s Untitled (Magritte Stone), which sold for about nine times its estimate to an international buyer using our mobile app, representing the highest price for a work of art sold via Phillips’ mobile technology. In fact, about 25% of the total lots sold today were purchased online -- representing more than a third of the total value -- signaling the accessible and global nature of the 21st century art market.”
