'Brogue APR 1954' and Norman Parkinson Trust copyright stamps with various annotations in unidentified hands on the verso.
"I like to make people look as good as they'd like to look, and with luck, a shade better." - Norman Parkinson

The "Brogue" stamp that appears on the reverse of this photograph is a contraction of British Vogue, and was a nickname bestowed affectionately upon the magazine to distinguish it from its American antecedent. Photographs produced for the magazine frequently bear this stamp.
