Catalogue Essay
When F.P. Journe introduced the Octa collection in 2001, it marked a significant step into serial production for the maison. The watch quickly captivated enthusiasts with its technical sophistication, leading Journe to enhance its capabilities with the upgraded cal. 1300.3. This movement features a substantial 22-karat gold rotor and a unidirectional ball-bearing system, ensuring ample energy to operate the caliber effortlessly. Journe’s exceptional engineering and meticulous craftsmanship have garnered admiration from even the most discerning collectors.

Drawing design inspiration from Journe classics like the Octa Divine, the Quantième Perpétuel features a quatrefoil layout for optimal readability, with a subtle leap year indicator encircling the center.

This particular piece is a full set and stands out among its already highly sought-after counterparts as a rare “Boutique Edition” in platinum with a blue dial. Not only is the watch aesthetically stunning, but its rarity adds to its appeal: Boutique Edition models can only be obtained at Journe's exclusive boutiques, rather than through authorized dealers. Securing a boutique edition is quite challenging, as each boutique typically receives only a limited number of pieces each year.

F.P. Journe

Swiss | 1999
Founded by watchmaker François-Paul Journe in 1999, the F.P. Journe brand is relatively young, but already is as highly regarded by collectors as many distinguished manufacturers with centuries-old heritage. In the minds of the world's savviest collectors, Journe is producing some of the finest wristwatches the market has ever seen. Mastering his craft from restoring historical timepieces, he was the first to create a wristwatch incorporating two escapements that benefit from the phenomenon of resonance — the Chronomètre à Résonance.

Key models include the Résonance, tourbillon wristwatches incorporating a remontoir and the limited edition Vagabondage series. Especially sought-after are his earliest "souscription" watches, made in 1999.
