Catalogue Essay
This double-sided, screenprinted greeting card was created and printed by Jackson Pollock. The card was sent by Pollock and Lee Krasner in celebration of the New Year and is signed affectionately 'Love me + Lee' along with an intimate note addressing the fondness the two artists held for the recipient's festive Christmas dinner. Pollock likely learned to screenprint during his employment with the Federal Art Project from 1935 to 1943. The number of greeting cards made is unknown, and there are examples of the card being printed on both blue and red paper.
