Good to know:
- Limited edition with only 25 pieces made
- Grand feu enamel dial with purple steel hands and brown accents
- Rare rectangular movement made in-house
First launched in Tokyo in 2019, Moritz Grossmann released the Corner Stone in variants of opaline dial, lacquered dial and Grand feu enamel dial. The ones with Grand feu enamel dial were either in pink gold or white gold, and each metal cases had a limited number of 25 pieces. The present watch is the variant in 18K pink gold and Grand feu enamel dial, numbered 20 out of 25 pieces made. Blasted in high temperature, the enamel dial has a brown railroad minute track, Arabic numerals and small seconds sub-dial, paired with model exclusive steel hands heated to purple instead of the usual blue. The deeper tone of the hands and the markers, together with a pink gold case, gives a classy and quiet luxury impression.
As mentioned above, the present Corner Stone is housed with a brand-new rectangular cal. 102.3 movement developed solely for the watch. It is a slick movement that provides a long power reserve of 60 hours as it features a bigger spring barrel. A rectangular movement allows the efficient use of space, like the balance is located next to the winding module such that the kinetic energy of the angle lever can be transmitted in a shorter distance,
The auction debut of this model at Phillips Auction is surely the best timing to make this watch a new addition to your collection of German fine watchmaking.
