Catalogue Essay
Considered as one of the great modern classics from the Grand Complication family of Patek Philippe, the reference 5004 was introduced initially in 1994.
Powered by the famous outsourced Nouvelle Lemania based caliber CHR 27-70 QR, the reference also marked as one of the last to feature an outsourced caliber along with the chronograph only reference 5070. Produced in four different case materials, yellow gold, pink gold, white gold, platinum with extremely rare examples in stainless steel, the production of the reference seized in 2010, making way for its predecessor, the reference 5204 featuring a new Patek Philippe in-house caliber. With an approximated 1,000 examples of the reference produced in its span across all case materials, it is believed that only 200 examples were encased in pink gold, making it unusually rarer than the platinum edition with an estimation of 300 examples produced.
The present example in pink gold is presented in attractive overall condition and is delivered with an additional solid caseback. Deemed as one of the most important references of modern classics of Patek Philippe, this coveted reference will surely impress the most discerned lovers of horology.
